Johan Zwaan BSc

Johan Zwaan worked as a structural engineer at DHV and Oranjewoud after completing his Civil Engineering studies cum laude in 2001. During this period, he enthusiastically completed the geotechnical course CGF1. After geotechnical engineering caught his interest, he worked as a consultant at Fugro from 2004. In 2008, Johan joined CRUX as senior geotechnical consultant. Due to his structural background, he has a good understanding of the force effects in a geotechnical structure under various types of loads. In projects, Johan behaves in a result-driven way and is well able to prioritize main and minor issues. During his time at CRUX, his expertise was applied to the geotechnical design and monitoring of excavation pits and large infrastructural works, where he gained extensive experience in PLAXIS design. The projects he has worked on include the Second Coen Tunnel, renovation of the Rijksmuseum, New Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht and the A12 parallel structure. He also worked as Lead Engineer Geotechnics for the design in a number of projects such as the Boerenweteringgarage (tender), Spaarndammertunnel (tender), De Groene Boog and Knooppunt de Nieuwe Meer.
