Foundation Ridderkerk

A pile design was made for the VDH Reijerwaard project in Barendrecht. The design includes the new construction of a warehouse with cold storages equipped with loading docks and a 2-storey office. The total building height is approx. 14.5m and has a footprint of approx. 315m x 77m excluding the loading docks.

The office is incorporated indoors and has a luxurious appearance due to the curtain wall cladding and consists of two storeys. From the office it is possible to access the mezzanine floor at floor level, which will be realised across the full width of the building.

In collaboration with CRUX, CEMS drew up a foundation recommendation in which as many as 69 CPTs were calculated for three pile dimensions. Here, optimisation in pile point level and bearing capacity was achieved by grouping CPTs where possible. This made it possible to calculate lower safety factors at multiple locations and determine higher bearing capacities.

New insights were gained during this project by working closely with B-Invented's structural engineers. This project will hopefully form the basis for a fruitful collaboration with B-Invented in the future.
